About us

European Awareness and Intercomprehension (Lingua 1)

Welcome to our hotel and to the amazing world of intercomprehension!
You probably do not speak the 11 languages of our hotel, but you will be surprised to discover how much you are able to understand and do in those languages! In your own language you know how to book a hotel room or check the weather report of the day on the Internet. To do such things, you make use of some knowledge and strategies that you are not completely aware of.
Why don’t you try out those strategies in Bulgarian, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish or Turkish? Enter the world of intercomprehension!

Activities

You should find everything you need in your hotel room: a laptop to book a room in another country, a newspaper to check the weather forecast, a story book you can open, a MP3 player you can turn on , a television you can watch. You’ll see how easy it is and how fascinating the world of languages is as well!
Then, go and meet some Europeans from the South and the North, from the East and the West. Will you be able to identify them without being prejudiced? After this trip, why don’t you test your intercomprehension skills and learn how to talk to a foreigner in your own language in such a way that he will understand? In our world and our hotel, everyone speaks their own language and understands the others, no matter what language they speak.
